The Studio is organised to carry out independent structural design activities in the field of civil and industrial building for new and existing premises.
The design activity is divided into precise projects, which are defined for every task and practically followed by a project manager. Work planning entails the identification of the tasks to be performed and the definition of the following elements relating to project development: resources and methods, completion time, people in charge, working groups involved, content of the required performance, and identification of a reference procedure or quality plan.
The person in charge of the design sector plans and programmes the whole design process, from basic data collection to drawing checking and delivery; he also defines the level of research for analyses, calculations, as well as the necessary validations as far as work safety, complexity and reliability are concerned.
All the drawings and design documents are checked, verified and approved before issuing to be sure that:
- they comply with the input data and requirements;
- they provide all the necessary information to implement what has been designed;
- they include clear references to the materials and products to be used for work implementation;
- the project complies with what has been planned in the contract.
Structural works management is carried out through a series of checks, analyses, inspections, tests, meetings, recording of minutes and activities leading to the drafting of the final Report once the structures are complete, which represents the final part of the process. Thanks to its consolidated experience in different fields of engineering, the Studio also performs an important consulting activity concerning structural problems linked to:
- deterioration of reinforced concrete structures
- instabilities caused by settlements and/or exceptional events
- seismic upgrading
- problems caused by vibrations
- static problems in general
Over the past 50 years of activity, the Studio has performed many structural tests for both traditional and prestressed reinforced concrete structures and steel structures.
Static testing is carried out by using the same methods employed for design and Works Management: a project manager is appointed and activities are planned to manage projects in an efficient and timely way.
During the phase carried out on the construction site, the Studio takes part in technical meetings and provides efficient technical assistance to the Customer for any structural problems.
